Joanne spent a large part of her early life immersed in rural environments, where the physical beauty of cattle - their colours and textures - and their contrast against the landscape inspired her passion for painting.  Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Joanne studied Visual Communication and Design (majoring in illustration), before holding her first solo exhibition

in Auckland in 1992.

 

In 1994 Joanne travelled to the UK and began working from her first professional studio - a garret in Covent Garden, London.

In 2006, Joanne relocated to Bath, Somerset to further explore her artistic practice. She has since exhibited on a regular basis within the United Kingdom and further afield.

Her paintings now hang in homes and head offices around the world, and she continues to receive commissions from both the private and corporate sectors.
